The TI-1601 Pom Pom Beanie, like all Pom Pom Beanies, can trace its origin to the Vikings of the 9th and 10th centuries. The ancient Norse god Freyr was depicted wearing such a hat or helmet in a statue discovered in Södermanland, Sweden and the TI-1601 was therefore added to the Templin Commissary in tribute to all those who died in Gate 5031 attempting to capture Freyr and acquire his many secrets.
