The site that would become known as Thanh-Jenal was among the largest of the initial regions handpicked for colonization. Roughly a dozen settlements were constructed across a continent roughly the size of South America, which quickly lost contact with one another. Scattered and initially isolated, as communications and regular travel were restored, two emergent city-states, Thanh, and Jenal, began competing for political authority over the others. An agreement between the two, eased decades of tensions and founded the modern nation.
